Where do you climb Mount Kilimanjaro from?

Climbing Kilimanjaro starts from the cities of Arusha or Moshi. Moshi is about 28 miles (45 kilometers) from the airport, about 40 minutes (0.67 hours) by road. Arusha is 46 miles (74 kilometers) from the airport, an hour and a half by road. Mount Kilimanjaro has seven routes that lead to the top. The Lemosho trail starts on the western side and has an elevation of 2,100 meters (6890 feet). The Machame trail starts on the southern side and has an elevation of 1,640 meters (5380 feet). The Marangu path starts from the southeast. A northern route starts from the western side, near the border with Kenya. The Shira trail starts at a high altitude. The Rongai path has a descent via the Marangu path. The Lemosho trail covers a long distance and takes about a week.
