5 Day Serengeti Migration Safari Itinerary
DAY 1 — ARRIVAL AT KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
All trekkers will have to arrange their own flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and apply for their own visas through the online immigration portal. Visa guidelines are also available on the official immigration website.
Note, if you’re arriving from a country subject to yellow fever, you will be required to show proof of vaccination. A 72-hour PCR test is required for entry.
A transfer will be arranged to drop off you and your luggage at the hotel to unwind from your travels. Briefing will take place in the evening or early morning.
DAY 2 — ARUSHA TOWN TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning, you’ll be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Serengeti National Park. Once there, you’ll enjoy a full-day game drive with a lovely picnic in the afternoon.The park is known to host 1.5 million wildebeests all year round. You’ll be able to witness a diverse range of antelopes, Zebras and the big 5 are often spotted here. Once the day’s spent, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation in order to eat and retire for the day.
DAY 3 — FULL DAY GAMEDRIVE AT SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Waking up in the Serengeti is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The sights, sounds, and scents of Africa surround the atmosphere as you anticipate a full day of adventure ahead in the world’s most famous national park. After breakfast, you’ll begin your morning game drive led by your seasoned wildlife tour guide who will usher you along breathtaking sceneries while narrating significant wildlife events before intervening for a short picnic lunch.
Following your picnic, you’ll head off again in search of wildlife before retiring at camp/lodge in the evening. It’s worth noting, the beauty of the Serengeti changes subtly during the afternoon. Countless birds mask the skies as nature’s dramatic events roam the ground. Though you’ll be following the wildebeest migration, there’ll be plenty of lions, elephants, zebras, cheetahs and antelopes to see throughout your game drives.
DAY 4 — FULL DAY GAMEDRIVE AT SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Today, your Serengeti migration safari continues as you travel from the Serengeti’s outskirts to its core. Here, you’ll see everything Serengeti has to offer before retiring at your lodging. Note: If you’ve booked an Air Balloon Safari today, you will be picked up from the camp at 05.00 hours for a 06.00 hours departure. Please book your air balloon safari along with your 5 day safari package so your spot is reserved in advance.
DAY 5 — FULL DAY GAMEDRIVE AT SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
The game drive will continue at the Serengeti National Park after breakfast packed with lunch boxes. The tour will make its way toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for an overnight stay.
This is so you can beat the sunrise in order to descend down the crater in the morning.
DAY 6 — NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA TO ARUSHA TOWN
Early in the morning, you’ll descend down to the crater and continue your game drive before making your way back to Arusha.
DAY 7 — KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT/NEXT TOUR
If you have booked a Zanzibar Beach Holiday package with us, you’ll be transferred to the next chapter of your journey. If you have not booked an additional trip with XPATS International, you’ll be transferred to the airport.
